When we think of a port we think of ships, containers, docks and cargo. And of course we need infrastructure, dredging, security, technology and efficiency to be competitive. But we believe that a modern port can do something more: generate opportunities around everything it sets in motion.
With that view we present during the Business Round 2026 in Avellaneda, Dock Sud Global and Aula Puerto, two different but complementary programs.
Dock Sud Global seeks to take advantage of one of the great strengths of the Port: its connection with the world. In Avellaneda, our region and the entire province of Buenos Aires we have a huge network of SMEs and industries with the capacity to grow and export. But we know that having a good product is often not enough.
Foreign trade requires information, contacts, knowledge of markets, logistics and support. Dock Sud Global wants to transform the national and international relations of the Port into concrete opportunities for our companies, articulating with chambers, universities, public organizations, embassies, operators and specialists.
And there is another challenge that is fundamental for us: the world of work is changing and so is port work.
Automation, artificial intelligence, digitalization and new technologies are transforming the tasks and profiles that companies require.
Facing this change we want to prepare our people. That's why we created Aula Puerto. We want young people who aspire to work in Port companies to be able to acquire the skills that this new world of work demands. And we want those who already work to be able to update themselves, incorporate new tools, improve their qualifications and aspire to positions of greater responsibility.Training is also social mobility.
Aula Puerto will offer training linked to port activity, logistics, foreign trade and new technologies, in addition to English, Portuguese and Chinese oriented towards international trade. The proposal will be built together with universities, educational institutions, companies and workers, to train in what the sector really needs.
We do not want to train for a job that no longer exists. We want to train for the work to come.
Dock Sud Global connects our companies with the world. Aula Puerto prepares our people for new opportunities.
That is our idea of a modern port: a port that opens markets for our companies and doors for our workers.
