We present Dock Sud Global and Aula Puerto, two programs to promote SMEs and job training

We present Dock Sud Globaland Aula Puerto, two programs that aim to expand the link between the port and the productive and labor network of the region. This was carried out within the framework of the Business Round 2026, which brought together more than 400 businessmen in Avellaneda.

The proposals were presented as complementary initiatives. While Dock Sud Global seeks to take advantage of the international connection of the port to generate new opportunities for companies and SMEs, Aula Puerto aims to strengthen the training and training linked to port work and related activities. they are working allows them to train," explained Mónica Litza, president of the Dock Sud Port Management Consortium, during the presentation.

In the case of Dock Sud Global, the objective is to facilitate the access of companies from Avellaneda, the region and the province of Buenos Aires totools and links necessary to advance in internationalization processes. The proposal contemplates coordination with business chambers, universities, public organizations, embassies, operators and foreign trade specialists.

The program is based on the possibility of using the national and international linkage of the port as a tool to bring companies closer to new markets. In this sense, it seeks to address some of the obstacles that SMEs face when exporting, such as the lack of information, contacts, knowledge of the markets and specialized support.

Meanwhile, Carlos Lombardo, Secretary of Production, Commerce and Environment of the Municipality of Avellaneda, highlighted that the proposal “not only concerns Avellaneda, but also several municipalities in the region and any company in the region. province of Buenos Aires that wants to approach Dock Sud.”

For his part, Ariel Aguilar, undersecretary of Commercial Development and Investment Promotion of the Province of Buenos Aires, focused on the role of companies in generating employment and the need to accompany their development. “This private sector that you see here, more than 400 entrepreneurs, is the one that generates employment, it is the one that must be promoted and this is the State as the promoter of this private initiative”, he pointed out.

The second initiative, Aula Puerto, is aimed at training for work in a context of transformation of port activity. The incorporation of automation, artificial intelligence, digitalization and other new technologies is modifying the tasks and profiles required by companies.

The program provides for training linked to port activity, logistics, foreign trade and new technologies. It also includes the teaching of English, Portuguese and Chinese aimed at international trade, with a proposal that will be developed together with universities, educational institutions, companies and workers.

The initiative will be aimed at both young people seeking to join the port field and workers who already work in the sector and need to update their knowledge, incorporate new tools and improve their qualifications.

In this way, Dock Sud Global and Aula Puerto propose two lines of linked action: open new possibilities for the Buenos Aires productive network and strengthen the capabilities of those who are and will be part of the port labor world.
